Just a few free tips for guys who are frustrated with women ignoring them or shooting them down.
- Set up your profile
You don't need to have much, but at the very least you will need a picture of your avatar. Women in SL have been trained by years of experience to expect the worst when it comes to guy's avatars. If we don't actually see you in the sim, and there's no profile picture to give any indication of what your avatar looks like, most of us are going to silently close your IM window and get on with our lives.
Beyond just a picture, you really should put something in your profile. You don't need to give your whole life story and list every sex act you're into, but give women something to pique our interest. Guys, your profile is the number one place to sell yourself, if you can't even bother with that, why would you expect any women to take interest? - Set an actual name
If your avatar name looks like a 1990's AOL chat handle, and you didn't base your avatar off of the 1995 movie "Hackers" starring Angelina Jolie and Jonny Lee Miller, take advantage of SL's "Display Name" feature to choose a name that makes you look like you're not either 15 or a confused boomer who doesn't understand computers. - When you want a girl you see in a sex sim, make the first move
Don't sit there and stare at all the women around you, hoping and praying that one messages you. You want a girl? You've got to make the first move. If you're already both in a sex sim together then this is Easy Mode. This isn't like IMing random women because you spot their name on your radar despite them being two sims away. If she's hanging out in a sex sim then she's there to hook up. - Read the room
Are you in a shopping mall or are you in a sex club? Is the woman alone or is she talking to someone? Girls are way less likely to appreciate guys randomly hitting on them when they're obviously busy or not in the mood so maybe save your pick-up lines for the sex sims and dance clubs. - Again, READ THE ROOM
What type of girl are you approaching?
Is she in a non-con sex sim, wearing nothing but a collar? Does her profile say "Bend me over and stick it in!"? Then being crude and direct will probably work great.
OR is it a classier sort of sex club? Are her picks a bunch of RP character profiles and stores? Maybe don't message her "Nice ass." or "wanna fuck?" and instead try talking to her like a human being. - Seriously, READ THE FUCKING ROOM!
Does the sim have a theme? Is it a role-play setting? Is your avatar dressed for that theme or did you walk into an alien breeding hive wearing jeans and a polo shirt and can't understand why all the women are ignoring you? She's in that sim because she is looking to play in that theme and setting. Seriously, I see guys in boring vanilla avatars hanging out in old man, non-con, sci-fi, even monster sims all the time. And there's always two or three times as many women there, ignoring these guys. Like, how do you not realize you've got no chance of succeeding if you don't play in the theme?Here's an example. There is a sim where the theme is goblins dragging women into their caves and doing terrible things to them. The sim was, early on, frequently packed with women who did up their avatars as RPG style adventurers or helpless village girls, just waiting for the goblins to capture them. They had seen "Goblin Slayer" and said "OMG YES."
Problem was, guys don't read the room. All the guys who went to the sim wanted to be BIG and MANLY. So they'd show up as demon lords, werewolves, minotaurs. All big and manly and towering over the women. Afterall, what girl would prefer a horde of tiny green goblins to a REAL MAN?
Turns out the answer to that question was "literally every goddamn woman who went to the goblin themed sim". So, due to a lack of men actually willing to play with the theme, women wind up bored and frustrated.
Guys, understanding why women are in that sim is literally the minimum requirement. If you can't wrap your head around the idea of why women are in a sim whose entire theme begins and ends with women being gangbanged by goblins, then the first reaction of every woman you try to hit on is going to be annoyance.
That goblin sim is back, but caters more to hardcore roleplayers these days, not as much sex. Still hardly any goblins around because the people who did play goblins were constantly getting hit on by the women and they just eventually burned out.
- Get to the point
Don't just message a girl "hi" and hope her clothes will fall off. Don't ask the woman at the BDSM pony play farm or minotaur sex maze "so why are you here?" because she's definitely NOT there of all places for dull small talk.
Does the sim have a theme or a role-play setting? Try approaching in character! But don't go overboard and waste your time writing the prologue to a novel. She might be AFK, already messaging someone else, or just not interested. Try something short. Just a couple of sentences. Just to show that, yes, you understand the theme and, yes, you can roll with it.
(Because I guarantee that by the time you found her she's already brushed off a dozen guys who can't and she is all out of patience for more bullshit.) - Show you can EMOTE.
Many guys in SL just do not know how to role-play. Show women you can by giving them a short opener to set the mood. You don't need to write a novel, just enough to show that you can get in character. A couple of sentences is all it takes. If you're in an alien tentacles sim and you message a girl "hi. want to play?" she is already losing interest. Write something that shows you can get in character as the shambling alien menace/old man/menacing thug you've made your avatar out to be. - Keep the roleplay moving
A frustrating mistake I see so many guys make is that when they've already gotten a girl interested in them, they still somehow manage to cock it all up by pussy-footing around. Guys will literally stonewall the RP to keep things in the "small talk" stage. My guy, you've won! You've got her ready to slip out of her panties. You've gotten her to follow you somewhere "a little more private". IT'S FUCKING GO TIME.
I've literally had guys stall so long because they're afraid to make a move, that by the time they're finally ready to take their pants off even I'm looking at the time and saying, "Sorry, it's way late. I've got to go." - Know when to cut your losses
No one owes you their time or attention. If a girl doesn't reply, or teleports away, just take the L and move on. If you keep hounding her you're just coming off as a creeper. And not the hot kind of RP creeper girls are hoping will chain them up in a non-con basement sim. Just the regular kind of creeper that nobody likes. - Have a good, well made avatar
